Our story

Kilnwright began at a secondhand wheel in a borrowed garage — with more enthusiasm than skill, and a firm belief that everyday objects should be beautiful.

Potter shaping clay on the wheel

Thrown, stitched & glazed under one roof

Ten years on, we are a small team of potters, sewists and glazers sharing a sunlit workshop. We throw stoneware to cone 6 for everyday durability, piece fabric offcuts into totes and cushions, and assemble every mosaic lamp by hand.

Nothing leaves the shelf until it has survived our own kitchens first — the teapot test is real, and the dog Hairy approves all cushion fills personally.

Our promise is simple: honest materials, patient craft, fair prices, and pieces that look better in ten years than they do today.

01

Shape

Clay is wedged, thrown and trimmed; fabric is cut and pieced. Every piece starts by hand, never from a mould farm.

02

Fire & finish

Two kiln firings, food-safe glazes, double-stitched seams. We test, we reject, we refire — only the best ships.

03

Home

Wrapped in cloth, packed in recycled card, and sent with care instructions so your piece ages gracefully.

Come see the kiln glow
